Space Products Military Account Manager

a.i. solutions is looking to hire a self-motivated Account Manager to take our defense industry sales to the next level, providing flight dynamics solutions using FreeFlyer to tomorrow’s space missions across USSF/USAF/AFRL/SDA/DARPA. FreeFlyer is a desktop software product that defense agencies and users worldwide rely upon to ensure the success of current and future missions in all orbital regimes. A wider suite of tools, including Meridian and ObsSIM, are built on FreeFlyer to provide even greater functionality to meet mission needs. FreeFlyer and this growing suite of customized applications have supported over 225 space missions including active missions at 1 SOPS, 2 SOPS, 3 SES, and KAFB RSC. This position is an excellent opportunity to leverage and expand the candidate’s space network in the western United States to influence the next generation of space missions. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers. 


Essential Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Interface with customers through all phases of the sales cycle 
  • Identify, pursue, and close new FreeFlyer, Meridian, and ObsSIM software sales 
  • Initiate product evaluations, discuss pricing and licensing options, and present software product demonstrations both in-person and remotely 
  • Respond to RFIs and RFPs to pursue and capture larger proposal-level work 
  • Collaborate with our product design team to create new product experiences to meet the needs of defense customers 
  • Establish relationships with existing customers to ensure annual maintenance renewals are on time 
  • Maintain and expand both university and international corporate partnerships 
  • Use SalesForce to track future sales opportunities and maintain existing customer accounts 
  • Work with the corporate marketing team to create and update promotional materials including blog posts, social media, FreeFlyer videos, and printed materials 
  • Meet in-person with defense customers in Colorado Springs and Albuquerque 8+ times per year when it is safe to do so 
  • Travel to conferences 3+ times per year 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 
  • 5 years of experience working in the defense space sector 
  • U.S. citizenship

  • Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values, or opinions of others 
  • Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact 
  • Demonstrated leadership accomplishments academically and personally 
  • Currently possess an active DoD security clearance
  • Strong professional network in the military space sector 
  • Orbital mechanics/astrodynamics working knowledge, especially as it relates to USSF needs 
  • Use of flight dynamics-related modeling/simulation and computing tools, particularly FreeFlyer 
  • Experience making sales pitches to potential customers 
  • Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) tool experience
