Senior Manager Procurement
Telespazio Germany GmbH · Darmstadt, HE, GermanyWe are seeking a Senior Manager Procurement to lead our Procurement Organizational Unit. The successful candidate will oversee the strategic acquisition of services, ensuring all activities align with company procedures while driving financial and strategic growth. This role is pivotal in modernizing procurement operations, specifically through the integration of SAP S/4HANA, and managing complex lifecycles for high-tech aerospace projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for services while driving continuous improvement in processes, tools, and supply chain management.
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including RFIs, RFPs, bid evaluations, purchase orders, contract issuance, and supplier performance monitoring.
- Audit ongoing purchases to identify cost-saving opportunities that contribute to EBITDA objectives and reduce single-source dependency through strategic market scouting.
- Partner with engineering, project management, and sales units to align procurement timelines and cost estimations with project schedules.
- Support the legal department in drafting and negotiating complex contract clauses (in English) and ensure strict adherence to internal policies and industry regulations.
- Lead the implementation and integration of procurement processes within SAP S/4HANA, providing hands-on training and support to the team.
- Coordinate and align with global purchasing initiatives across the wider Telespazio Group.
- At least 5+ years of experience in Purchasing Departments, including at least 2 years in a leadership role within medium-to-large international companies.
- Proven experience in the technical or programmatic area for high-tech systems (Aerospace, Software, Telecommunications, or R&D).
- Expert-level negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong experience working in international environments with the ability to interface proactively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- High precision in documentation, an analytical mindset, and a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority activities in parallel with flexibility and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong functional knowledge of SAP and/or SAP S/4HANA, with a focus on the Purchasing Module.
