IT Cybersecurity Project Specialist

ESO IT is moving to a security first strategy, has prepared a cybersecurity implementation plan and is recruiting an IT Cybersecurity Project Specialist to manage critical cybersecurity projects.

After finishing your university degree in computer science or cybersecurity you have ideally several years of general IT experience. You have specialised in cybersecurity, and you have gained experience in the management of cybersecurity projects. You have hands-on experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Meisterplan and you may also be certified in certain methodologies such as PRINCE2. You will also have an independent and autonomous way of working paired with team spirit and collaborative approach working with all IT specialists at the various ESO locations. Ultimately you will lead IT cybersecurity project teams ESO wide, coordinate with stakeholders, report to the project board and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers.

As IT Cybersecurity Project Specialist in the IT department, you will work in close cooperation with the ESO IT Cybersecurity Specialist. You will be made responsible for the implementation of cybersecurity projects and ensure that they are delivered on-time and within budget.

Depending on your skillset, additional responsibility may follow, as your knowledge and experience of the ESO technologies and environment increases. Ultimately you will control the evolution of the IT Services, considering changes, improvements, upgrades or obsolescence.

Qualifications:

A first level University degree (Bachelor) in Computer Science (or equivalent). A project management related certification will be considered a strong asset. An ITIL certification would be useful.

Language Skills:

An excellent command of the English language - oral, reading and writing - is essential. A working knowledge of German and/or Spanish would be an advantage.

The contract is for a fixed term duration of three years, and is subject to successful completion of the probation period. There may be a possibility of extension(s) subject to individual performance and organisational requirements.
