Configuration and Migration Engineer (f/m/d)

Who You Are

We are looking for a Configuration and Migration Engineer to strengthen our team. This position is based at ESOC in Darmstadt. It is a permanent full-time position.

What You Will Focus on 

• Procedure conversion from MOIS to ProToS
• Import procedure to ProToS and identify any issues encountered and develop workarounds if possible
• Raise and track anomalies

What You Bring

• University degree or equivalent education in Computer Science

Essentially

• Knowledge of MS Office tools
• Knowledge of Linux Systems and familiarity with Command Line Interface
• Understanding of server client architecture to potentially debug/resolve ProToS issue or set up the ProToS CLI (Command Line Interface)
• Understanding of ESOC operations
• Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to multi-task and work in a flexible way
• Good Communication skills
• Fluent in the English language
• Strong Practical Knowledge of Python: Proficiency in Python for developing and debugging applications, with the ability to write efficient & maintainable code
• Basic Java or OOP Knowledge: Sufficient understanding of Java or object-oriented programming to effectively debug and resolve errors
• The ability to read and interpret Java exceptions
• XML Proficiency: Strong understanding and experience with XML (Extensible Markup Language) for data representation and communication between systems
• Parsing and Manipulation: Ability to parse, read, and modify XML documents using appropriate Python tools and libraries such as xml.etree, ElementTree, lxml, or minidom
• Schema Design and Validation: Experience reading XML schemas (XSD) and validating XML documents to ensure they conform to defined structures
• Data Transformation: Proficiency with XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations) for converting XML data into different formats (e.g., HTML, JSON) using Python libraries like lxml
• Integration: Knowledge of integrating XML-based data with databases and APIs, and automating XML data processing using Python
• Working experience with Git and GitLab

Desirable

• Familiarity with ProToS
• Familiarity with MOIS and operational procedures
• Validation tests experience will be an advantage
• The candidate should be capable of combining error messages with logs to diagnose issues
