Columbus Flight Control Engineer - STRATOS (f/m/d)

Who You Are

We are looking to strengthen our service team at our customer premises in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich with a talented and ambitious team member. If you have an eye for detail and love working in a dynamic and challenging workplace, then this could be your opportunity to be part of the Columbus Flight Control Team. As Columbus Flight Controller, you will support activities in the area of Columbus Operations, an ESA facility on-board International Space Station.

What You Will Focus on 

• Execution of ESA activities onboard ISS
• Coordination with Flight Control Team and other European and International partners for managing ISS operations on behalf of ESA
• Maintenance and update of operational processes, procedures, regulations, tools etc.
• Supporting Crew Increment (expeditions) with planning and execution
• Support post incremental activities like lesson learnt, creation of reports, review etc.
• Providing regular console support in 24x7 shift patterns
• Providing On-call Support
• Willingness to travel for training and meeting purposes

What You Bring

• Good Engineering Degree in Aerospace or a related domain with excellent grades
• Proficient user of computer systems and MS Office suite
• Fluency in English both spoken and written

• Ability to work with little or no supervision and take responsibility
• Flexible
• Ability to prioritize different parallel activities
• Capability of following and implementing standard procedures
• Problem solving aptitude

Desirable

• Some experience in operational environment leading to familiarity with procedures, monitoring and command systems, voice loops etc. would be a plus

Furthermore

• Due to the project requirements, only candidates with nationality of any Member State of the European Union or Norway need apply. This is a must and non-negotiable.
